MY LETTER TO PBS NEWS HOUR OMBUDSMAN.
This is the second time I've written to you about the lack of objectivity in your reporting of a possible strike against Syria. The reporting on John Kerry's congressional appearance was most disappointing. No mention was made of his leaving the possibility of "boots on the ground" statement and his having to walk that back, and his statement to the effect that in the future there could be an involvement of U.S. ground forces (read the whole transcript if you haven't, and I think you'll agree that I've made a valid inference). Also disappointing was that there was an extensive interview with hawk Carl Levin, beating the drums for war. There was no opposing viewpoint. The left wing press is correct in saying that the mass media cannot be fair and balanced in its reporting. If we can't rely on PBS for objective reporting, where do we turn? Well, I'll go to Ian Master's Backgound Briefing on Pacifica Network and get a much fairer reporting of the news than you offer. This is odd because Pacifica is supposed to be (in the eyes of its critics) ultra left wing.
You are an unreliable news source without credibility. As a viewer of the New Hour for many years it saddens me to have to make such a statement.
